Once we had planned our digipak we realised that we needed to take photos of each of the band members. I decided to meet up with Harry, Ollie and Max (3 band members) and take photos of them in the style that we hope to use in our digipak. I had the room in darkness and I used a lamp as a spotlight to create a shadow effect and I took photos of each of the band members one by one and then photos of the band together as a group. Our aim was to re create photos of a band within a similar genre to ours and when researching magazine adverts we came across Q magazines Arctic Monkeys edition and really liked the way in which the band were portrayed on the front cover and inside page (shown below).

I attempted to re produce some of the photos shown above so group photos and single photos had to be taken. Below are all of the original photos that I took during the photoshoot.

Once I had taken all the photos, I then had to look through and pick out the ones which I liked the most and the ones that I would most likely use in our real product. This proved difficult as some of the pictures were better than others, particularly the group images where often two of them were in a good position and angle but the other person wasn’t. We then realised that we didn’t necessarily need any group photos for the digipak but we could use it in the magazine advert depending on the idea we come up with. I was able to narrow it down to a few of the better photos, the individual photos and the group photos. These are shown in the collage below.
