As you can see from the image on the left, our two videos have been imported into premiere pro. The first video is of Jordan and Charlotte sitting together on one side of the room and the second video is of Jordan himself walking in and sitting in the chair on the right hand side of the screen so that when you use th elinear wipe tool you can easily split the two videos with the trasition tool.

As you can see in the image above, we put the two clips into the timeline with the second clip on top of the first clip.

Following on from this we then searched for the 'linear wipe' tool which is used specifically for this sort of task. It basically means you can split one video apart and have another video in the same shot so you can have the same person appearing in the same video like we've done.

We then selected the second video as this is the one you want to split apart so that the other video is also showing. We set the transition completion to 64% so that Jordan and Charlotte could both fit in the shot from the first video leaving the rest of the screen for Jordan in the second clip. We also set the 'feather' to 17.0 so that it is less obvious that the video is in two and that wehave made use of the linear wipe tool.

So the image on the left shows the first video before we used the inear wipe tool.

As you can now see, Jordan is now present twice in this image proving that the linear wipe tool works successfully.
